maybe you should focus more on gaining contract work and be less worried about people trying to copy your work.
Most companies are willing to pay for the work they like ... removing your watermark is more trouble than it is worth.
I totally agree. People waste more money and time trying to protect work without realizing that the value is NOT in the actual work, but the idea that goes behind it. The legitimate people that you want to work with probably won't steal. The others will, and there isn't much you can do about it without turning off the former. If I were to receive a heavily watermarked design, I would think... "gee, this guy has trust issues".
That being said, the only way (without involving attorneys, watermarks and low-rez crap), is to print out and photograph the work. Though, if done poorly, it will have a negative reflection on the work.

It's the fabled iProduct! At long last!
http://makeuseof.com/tech-fun/images/iproduct-feel-special.jpg
that would be hilarious if:
1.) apple hadn't ALREADY changed the tech world so many times
a) apple I (first PC that changed the industry, and made every one follow in apple's footsteps)
b) macintosh (first PC with GUI that changed the industry, and made every one follow in apple's footsteps)
c) powerbook 100 (first modern portable computer)
d) iMac (first real pc to capture "trend" status)
e)apple quicktake (first truly consumer level digital camera)
f)apple newton (first truly consumer level PDA, and the godfather of all current smartphones, minus the phone, obviously.)
g)apple ipod (first digital music player that changed the industry, and made everyone follow in apple's footsteps)
h)apple iphone (first smartphone to incorporate a multi-touch screen and take full advantage of the phone as a mobile computing device)
i)apple ipad (first tablet PC that changed the industry, and made everyone follow in apple's footsteps)
I totally agree, outside of those areas, apple has made no significant impact on anyone's life. The question that you need to ask yourself is "How many products that apple has had very direct influence on do I use on a day to day basis?"
I'm assuming most, if not all of the previously mentioned products find their way into your life pretty regularly.
Thank you for actually changing the world...just like you said you would, apple.

I once spoke to a chap I know who was in huge debt and asked how he slept a night. He said if you owe a Bank 100 you're screwed, they won't try to help you, but if you owe them 100,000 they're screwed and will bend over backward to help.Been there. I was never treated so well as when I owed 1.5 million.

I think if you put the drive in a firewire or usb external enclosure, the enclosure chipset will take care of that, so you can hook up a 300GB drive if you want.

I feel this has always been the case. As soon as some new hotness comes along, last year's multiplayer of choice seems to be left with nothing but hackers and 12 year olds.

Dont post a photo and expect all praise ;) If you cant take criticism, don't post.
I like the photo - its good. However as others have pointed out, the graining devalues it (IMO) and makes the picture look amateurish. I can see where you were going though and like it.
Trying to tell me what the ambient light was like without having ever been there isn't criticism.
You made a thread just to show off this one photo! Please don't expect everybody to be gushing, "Ohhh my, how lovely." I wasn't trying to attack you or anything, and I'm not trying to say that you don't know what you're doing; I'm just saying that I think the photo could've been taken differently, and I'd like it all the more for that. I'm not even much of a photographer myself, you probably know more than I do. I was just giving my two cents. If you don't agree with me, that's fine, but there's no need to be so sour about it.
Ambient light is not a matter of opinion, it's fact... If I had shot this at ISO400 I would've had an exposure of about 1/2 a second, and the photo would be absolutely ruined by camera shake. Come on now. I don't expect people to comment saying "oh how lovely" etc., notice how I haven't even responded to any criticism (or comments for that matter) until you came in with your asinine ideas about exposure. Probably should learn a bit about photography before you try to tell experienced photographers that they're doing it wrong (when it comes to something as simple as exposure), people might take you more seriously. Anyone who knows anything about exposure will tell you that bumping down to 400 from 3200 is reducing your amount of light by TWO stops...

Try logging back into your account. Did you remember to log out (NOT Quit) iChat from your upstairs machine before you logged in from downstairs?
Quitting iChat doesn't mean you logged out. Logging out means disconnections, not quitting an application.

Of course with the Democratics and their coming hyper inflation buying big boxes might make sense again.
Thanks for injecting politics where it doesn't belong. Frankly, you shouldn't be voting if you don't even know that it's Democrats.
What kind of "exclusive deal"? And BTW, wouldn't that loss of $200k a month have also have a substantial negative impact for Costco then for Apple? If that number is true we are talking about $100 000 000 per month in declined sales.
The impact to Costco's bottom line really depends on the profit margins they were making on the iPods and how much extra foot traffic they were brining in.
There is no direct impact on their bottom line because, unlike Sam's Club, Costco doesn't make a dime on any of the products they sell, only the membership fees. Of course there is indirect negative impact if the sole reason you would become a member was to buy an iPad, but I'm willing to bet the number of people who would do that is negligible.

i think that you should be fine getting an emac, its a good machine and will be comparable in performance to your ibook due to similar (albeit not identical) specs. up the ram if you want to.
i understand your problem with the moving of the ibook, but to put your mind to rest, it is designed to be put up with certain stresses (whithin reason):D so it can survive a short trip in a backpack everyday, you will probably see mostly physical wear and tear, and no hardware damage (unless you drop it).
many would be inclined to say: what use is a portable if you dont use its portability?
in a matter of weeks i shall be carrying my powerbook around my new campus, but i did buy a special bag for it so im not that worried about it getting damaged. UNDUE CARE IS NEEDED!
if you are still paranoid, buy yourself a good protective case/bag (not a skintight sleeve).
or if you are still worried, go with the imac.
hope i have been a help

I'm not sure whether you have had internet access work previously at your work or not.
Have you checked which ports are active in your Network preferences? Disable all ports apart from ethernet for your ethernet set-up.
OSX networking will try and use all ports you have activated.
Are your TCP/IP settings for your ethernet port setup according to your work's network administrator's instruction?. If so, how do you test if your ethernet works? Have you tried pinging a machine on your local network?
If you can ping, local machines, try pinging an external domain eg www.apple.com?
