^^^ It's to make you feel as if you have so many great features included in your system. :) *thumbs up* GREAT!!!1!11!!
Ooh is that two energy star stickers?! Does that mean I'm saving the planet twice, or the computer actually gives energy back to the power grid?!
The stickers make Windows computers seem cheap in my opinion... Thats the last thing I want for my $1000+ piece of equipment. Apple realizes that, and since they have final say (as someone else mentioned), they won't put stickers on the computer.

I don't really think most people who work at Apple Stores would be privy to tis information. :D
Nope any information is not known prior to the announcement.

The Sketch-a-Search app is very good. smart intuitive UI, someone in Yahoo is finally thinking outside of the (search) box.
but one thing that really stuck out was that it was using maps provided by Google. Really yahoo?

Provided AT&T is generous with their upgrade window, the only things that could get me to update would be a $199 price for the 32 GB and a larger screen (as long as it doesn't increase the size of the device.)
Otherwise, I'll probably just wait it out for the 4G in 2012. I'm much more interested in iOS 5.
There's a chance Apple may include some iOS 5 dual core-only features, and that could be a deciding factor. I doubt it, though (not interested in photobooth.)

Ooops, I now see that in your original post, glossed over it when I originally "read" it. You won't have a problem. Sorry!

Wow, that really hurts to be that guy.
I never actually clicked the link or read the article,
but by scimming everyones responses i gather
it was pretty tuff for the college student.
Truly, a damn shame.

Lets say what you're suggesting is correct in some situations with some video. Even with double the bandwidth we're only talking about 6-8MB. Until recently I had a 100mbit local network but I upgraded to gigabit via PCI card. My 100mbit performance was regularly at 9.7 - 11.4MB/sec with cat5e.
In conclusion.. although the ibook could never play an HD video itself it could easily host it on even a "slow" 100mbit network.
I didn't say anything about the iBook being able to play HD video.

Oh, how I wish iTunes would support several genres... :(
It does. Just use commas to separate them, and you can call upon either with a smart playlist. I have six main genres: pop, rock, dance, jazz, blues and classical. Within those genres, I have several subgenres: alternative, hip-hop, trip-hop, ambient, new wave, r&b, cabaret, live, soundtrack, folk, psychedelic, and some others. My six main genres are also used as subgenres when a song belongs to multiple genres. Examples: Kasabian (rock and dance), Marvin Gaye (pop and blues), Hot Chip (pop and dance), Norah Jones (pop and jazz), Madrugada (pop and rock), Craig Armstrong (dance and classical), and so on.
Then, when setting up a smart playlist that includes all songs with the genre pop, of the examples I used above both Marvin Gaye, Hot Chip, Norah Jones and Madrugada pop up. When setting up a smart playlist for rock, only Kasabian and Madrugada are included. Really easy, yet quite powerful.

All these posts and not one mentions MacBreak Weekly…
On many of the old episodes ( from the beginning up to about 1.5 years ago) he was a regular panelist. I think that's a much easier way to understand a little more about what he does (context, if you will) and his personality.
That said, he is an acquired taste! :p

I got this lens when I thought I would prefer the range to the speed of my Tamron 28-75 but then decided I was going to stick with the 28-75. I'm looking to get $300 for this awesome lens.

I thought the same thing after i used my Mac exclusively for about a month or two then jumping back to Windows to do various things. Most of the time I wondered why it took me so long to minimize everything so i could see the desktop (I have it set now where I can move the mouse to he top right corner and everything flies away) and also why... well I'm just doing things at a slower rate in general.
I'm not talking about things that particularly need a lot of CPU and processing power to do , just things like opening Chrome then opening two folders takes a lot longer to do on a Windows computer compared to a Mac.
Quick Launch Bar? Shortcut to my computer on desktop or Quick bar? It shouldn't take ANY longer to do those things on Windows if you have it set up right. Launching an app and opening a folder isn't rocket science, after all. I find some things take too long in OSX. The start button and an organized menu there is faster than a dock applications (must hold button over it so it's longer). Start menu is just a shortcut menu; you can still leave apps wherever they are. In OSX, you'd have to actually put them in sub-directories (well I guess you could create a directory of aliases as shortcuts, but Applications points to the programs, so you'd have to roll your own) to organize giant lists of programs without having to scroll down large lists (I like organized short by subject). OTOH, install/uninstall/registry BYTES in Windows and of course you always have to wonder when doing financial transactions in Windows if you're being key logged or otherwise fuxored by some new undiscovered malware type threat. But if you want to play games, Windows is the only real choice for efficiency and selection. OSX gaming sucks and always will so long as Apple doesn't give a flying rat's patoot about it so I'm stuck keeping Windows around regardless if I like it or not.

And, by an amazing coincidence, QEMU just happens to include a FreeDOS image...
The iEmulator site admits it's built on top of qemu. What's the big deal here, hm?
From the FAQ:
Is iEmulator based on the BOCHS emulator?
No! BOCHS is a fantastic, flexible effort, but we found it to be too slow to be "day-to-day usable" on the majority of hardware we tested with. In all of the tests we've tried, our solution, based on the powerful QEMU codebase, runs significantly quicker! Please note that QEMU is a trademark of Fabrice Bellard.

Hi, recently I was trying to take a photo of myself from facebook onto my desktop however with the new system I've just managed to save a link to the photo. It's called photo.php.html.download, it serves no purpose on my mac, it claims that it can't be deleted. With your help I hope to prove otherwise. I've tried getting into it's info to see if it's locked but it nothing happens when I click 'Get info'. Also if I try and move it, even just to somewhere else on the desktop it just goes back to it's original position.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks a lot!

That looks like my first guitar ( the OP's) , and as somebody already said here, if you can learn to play on a wider neck other guitars seem easier to play, IMHO.
That's not necessarily the case. It took me a while to get used to fretting on an electric guitar with its narrower neck having learned on an acoustic guitar which has a wider neck. I find a wider neck means you don't have to be as precise with your fretting fingers whereas the narrower the neck the less space between strings means you have to be on your fingertips all the time - otherwise you end up muting the surrounding strings.
Garageband's lessons are actually pretty cool - the basic free ones are as good as most of the DVDs I've seen in the starter packs but with the advantage that they are slightly more interactive and easier to navigate around. The artist lessons are also cool I have bought a few but haven't got down to using them yet.
Another very good online resource is www.freeandeasyguitar.com I've learnt a few songs from the videos there.

Even though the product numbers are different I can't tell the difference between these:

As you can see one is $30 more than the other, hmm.Looks like Best Buy is trying to dump them... may be a discontinued item for them.
